Vision In Blue
Ivy Rose |
Blue vision of remembrance
you are lovely in thought
and lovely in being.
Your notes echo into
the star-sprinkled sky
and bounce back again
into my hopeful heart:
a blue keepsake
this vision of you.
How many voices
have you given to the stars?
How many of your thoughts
have soared into the forever new?
My soul is proud
to call you daughter,
sister and mother. For
you have danced to star-music
whirling into the universe
of all your accomplishments.
A proclamation of beauty,
a remembrance of pure grace
and a vision with a dress of blue.

A Castle Of Dreams
11/10/06 |
I am the castle
and you are the dream.
I see your face as a cloud
at the dawning of twilight.
It is you I behold.
It is you I prepare my heart for.
Come dwell within this heart,
sit upon my throne.
For I await your presence
even as the trees capture
the glow of all that you are.
Hear these walls call out your name,
for they need their king.
How beautiful is the light
that filters through the leaves
and crowns the castle that dwells within.
When the dark hour of loneliness
invades our sacred place,
your love sends the darkness
into the vast sky of only you.
Then I dream and call you back...
back to the castle, back to me.
~~ And, you are no longer just a dream. ~~

Where Are These Stars?
05/04/07

|
What stars are these that slipped away?
Stars that gleamed and were unnoticed.
We have seen the shine gone
from a subdued Virgina sky
and lost those lives that had just begun
to ascend into a new brilliance.
These stars cannot be created again.
They were unlike any other stars.
What stars were these that were erased
with such violent winds of gunfire?
How will they be remembered?
With every breath of a smile,
their unique kind of walk, a favorite song.
They will always be held in our hearts,
in the sweep of a universe
unexplained and waiting for the best.
What stars were these
that left us in the company of tears?
Yet spoke of hope beyond,
of another place to shine.
Our tears were the stepping stones
for greatness, a night of constellations
that will forever be redeemed and revealed.
And so, we shall again bask in their glow.
Dedicated to those "lost stars" at Virginia Tech. May they always be remembered.

The Gift
06/08/07 |
Why would I give you the Moon?
Because you are the Moon to me,
Much brighter than its night glow.
It is your face that I see
When all the stars are in place.
It is the glow of your love
That illuminates my deepening dusk.
If I had a thousand moons,
I would give them all as a ransom
To acquire your touch, your arms.
But, tonight, the Moon is yours
Lassoed and brought down from the sky.
Embellished with a ribbon of moonbeams
To be presented to you as a cherished gift.
Be mine forever. Shine your light
Upon my life for endless nights.
That's why I have given you the Moon.
It cannot compare to the gift of you.

The Moon As If
07/08/07
 |
As if the moon
was the dream of you
and you dangled
on the end of a star
a dream within the night sky
translucent tears dripped
with the thought of dew-drop kisses
while gentle sugared-sighs
hovered ever near to my heart
but the moon was forgotten
with the incandescent light
of your gossamer-winged lashes
where was the comparison?
as if the moon could
compare to the circle
of your universal arms
your ever-expanding
lover's embrace
what then? what more could I ask?
to steal the dream, to pursue it
no...never to suffer its loss
only to know
its immeasurable gain

An Ocean Of Notes
04/09/08
|
The waves surged over the rocks
whispered tears to her heart.
How deep this vortex of feeling lay.
He played a symphony,
the rich tones creating exquisite joy.
His heart and hers as one spray.
To be in this moment,
to walk on the water
and feel the brine of her tears.
She knew the ocean received
the flooding of her notes,
the merging of her despair.
She was the song the ocean composed
and she was the moment of calm
before the storms of the future arose.
He was a memory that had drowned
in the murky waters below.
Just a flash in her ocean of sound.

Flames Of A First Moon
06/15/08 |
First Moon went to the Sun
the heart of time melting
into a new you, a new me.
Native heart, special day
grew into a feather of love.
Caught in the winds of flame,
Sun knelt down
pulled out each heart
and joined them together as one.
Drumbeat thumped to pulse,
thump pulsed to dance
while the First Moon left the Sun
melting time to heat
and sent me flaming into you.
Native heart eager to know
if love could spiral and grow.
