Winter Ghosts
01/18/05 |
Ghosts of winter drift
along snow-white corridors
in a Winter splash of golden sunlight.
Closer and closer they float
as a brown-earthen buck,
with antlers that branch out from
both sides of a slightly rounded head,
stares out into the haloed mist.
Stillness pervades the Arctic air.
Bare branches are held up
like arms to greet and welcome
two vaporous forms...
ethereal beings of light and fog.
Not a person is in sight,
only the wide chocolate eyes
of a deer frozen in snowy-fright.
Snow-covered limbs upon Evergreens
cast shadows, reflect ghost-like images.

Where Love Takes Us
01/23/05 |
My love is more often sweltering hot
beneath the pensive gaze of tender thought
from your fire and brimstone kind of kisses.
I am lost in the heatwave I have brought,
caught in the new drama of desire sought.
My heart beats out a love song to be sold:
a song of your heart once again retold
and sung with pulsing to our Love's refrain.
A miracle is waiting to unfold,
its value and worth beyond that of gold.
I stagger with hope under the threshold
of Love's ever firm and tender handhold.
My loving arms the bearer of our dreams,
the holder of my earnest-driven soul
given to your heart so steady; yet bold.
Hear the urgent call, my most handsome Knight.
Feel the pulse of my far-reaching delight
as it rushes fast to our sea of need.
I am lost in your embrace in firelight
that seeks what must be by cover of night.

These Red-Tango Eyes
02/15/05 |
That you could speak
to these red-Tango eyes
about love and the dance itself,
your soul absorbed with
Passion's clicking castanets.
Promenading past the hour
when the dance has simmered hot
picking up new Tango rhythms.
Raptured beats have tapped out ardor
with the Fantasia of seduction.
Enticing Tango lips,
swaying Tango hips,
stoked to flame by a senorita
with exotic Latin movements.
Fiery Flamenco phrases executed
on the dance floor of heart and soul,
flashes of fire flame
from the irises of red-Tango eyes.

Teaching The Stars How Not To Dance
03/08/05
|
With the eyes of my mind,
I see a bridge that spans the gap.
I yearn to teach one bird to sing
the tune of love, the tune of life.
I hear the tapping feet
of one thousand stars
that tap in rhythm to the beat
of a familiar path that never changes,
never varies. Could I teach
the stars how not to dance?
Could I teach your heart
what makes mine pulse?
It is the bird's song I am singing
that reaches to the core of your being.
It is the dance of passion,
a soiree of new love found,
that must unlearn
the ways of the past.
Yet learn its own destined rhythms
and find its own unique paths.
Inspired by: "I'd rather teach one bird to sing
than teach one thousand stars how not to dance."
e.e. Cummings, selected poems (1923-1858)

If You Were
04/02/05 |
What if you were the Moon?
Would I sail right into you?
Get lost in the depths
of your heartthrob seas.
What if you were a star?
Would I glide-glitter into
the precipice of your smile?
Fill the night with your tune.
What if you were the Sun?
Would I bask in the heat
of your sultry and seductive gleam?
See Dawn's rising undone.
What if you were everything
and everything I wanted was new?
Would I be your branch of delight?
Touch your heart of gold and noble oak.
What if I was a leaf that dangled
on your sturdy and steadfast limb?
Would you hold me close in the night?
Send me on wings of raptured flight.
What if you were the Moon?
Would you sail right into me?
Carry me on a voyage through
the sea of your deep liquid eyes.

A Dream Of Meeting
05/15/05 |
Take me back to loneliness,
to all your lonely thoughts...
If you dream of meeting
in your heart's longing,
then your heart will meet with me
in the center of all Love holds
in its sacred hands. It will be
a circle that loops around
and ends where it often begins.
It will be a dream that belongs
with the visions of my waiting.
For I wait for that heart which exists
to meet with my own, to be one
with the soul of my yearning.
The Earth whispers your secrets
to the wind. The wind whispers
all your secret desires back
to my heart, and sings a new song
created by the joining of our spirits.
If you dream of meeting
in your heart's longing,
then dare to know what it is
that you always ache for.

Exquisite Kiss
05/30/05 |
When I think of your face...
my eyes focus on your mouth.
So tempting, so tantalizing.
Words roll off your tongue.
Always so flattering,
so uplifting. What is it
about your mouth that I find
so intriguing, so inviting?
At night, I live in the vision
of our two lips pressed together.
Tongues dart in and out, touch
in an exquisite and sensual dance.
Your mouth moves in a whisper,
in a moment of sweet surrender.
Each of your kisses
is locked inside my soul.
Your kiss is a special gift,
a soulful pledge
to the burning flame
of our wildfire love

Lost In Pittsburgh
07/08/05 |
Circling around the city,
lost in Pittsburgh.
Can't find my way
back to you,
back to my heart.
Lost on a highway,
signs coming fast.
Keeping my eyes on the road,
searching for my destination.
Can't get your face
out of my head.
Can't get your embrace
out of my thoughts.
Because I am lost:
lost in Pittsburgh without you.
Found my match with the merge
of my soul to your soul.
Found my way with the map
of my heart that lives
inside the light of yours.
Pittsburgh is a blur.
My eyes closed to all else
besides your ready charms,
your becoming smile.
I am lost in Pittsburgh
but I will be found, again.
When I return home
to be with the one
who I am destined to
always be near, always love.

An Asheville Autumn
09/30/05 |
Sunlight filters through the leafy green...
pours its heart into the well of my own.
I see you high on the mountain top
listening to the heartbeat of the mountains.
They pulse with the rhythm of two hearts
and blossom with the colors of the leaves
that yearn to be part of a change.
Color and sunlight blend together
and open a path through the soul.
It is a portrait painted with you and I
sketched into its colorful center.
This Asheville Autumn our time
to find what we have only expressed
with our words and our humor.
A Rose grows on the side of the road.
You have taken in its rose essence
and transplanted the Rose into a new place.
So, Rose and vine intertwine
as the sunlight filters through the trees
and pours itself into the promise
of a new day, turning over a new leaf.

Blue Guitar Dreams
01/01/06
|
Conceiver of blue guitar dreams,
proclaimer of starlit prophecies,
she walks in circles
to the sound of blue guitars.
Speaks with rhyme
in a thousand pieces
and creates visions
of first impressions.
Her surprises are
without limitations.
The words she embraces
reflect star-beams into
the Sestinas of her heart.
She hears the symphony
of the blue notes
and becomes the music.
Her moon directs the sky
and orchestrates her desires.
She dances to the sound
of a thousand harps.
Sings to the soul of her being
with rhapsodic melodies
and whispers refrains of amour.
At the moment of echoes,
her passions are returned
by the sultry kiss of the stars.
